Evenblox is specially designed for 20×20 extrusion, but sometimes it’s not the best choice for your project. On baseplates, you can mount evenblox boxes to cover the bottom of the boxes without using 2020 extrusion. The baseplate leaves room for cables to go from one box to another and has holes for 4mm heat inserts. Melt the inserts matching the holes on the corners of the boxes.
There are holes at the sides of the Baseplates. These allow cables to pass through and connect two baseplates. You can use bricks to close the holes or enable a specific cable of a particular size. These parts are available at the end of the page (#BaseplateInsert)
You can also use baseplates to determine what you need for your project and how you want to mount it. This is also useful when setting up an experiment and keeping the components together.

With this insert, you can close the holes on the Baseplates and pass through a wire. The hole allows a 5mm thick cable or wire to pass through.

Baseplate Insert Connector
With this insert, you can connect two baseplates. When using this connector, you should add a box screwed to both baseplates over the seam. See image.
