The current Evenblox boxes are open at the top and have holes at the bottom for wiring. If you want to add a power connector, for example, there is currently no good solution. You can, of course, route the wires through the baseplate or modify a box, but this is not ideal and has been a limiting factor for my projects for some time.
To increase flexibility, boxes with an open side are now available. These allow you to slide in a plate, opening up a wide range of new possibilities. The first two boxes are the 1×1 and 2×1 versions with an open side, each with two matching closed plates. The first functional plate is a 1× plate and includes the option to connect an XT60 connector. See the page: Box Plates

The box itself can be printed without supports. The plate can be printed in two ways. The best orientation is on its small side, which requires a raft. A raft is a little bit painful to remove. The plate for the XT60 connector also requires supports when printed in this orientation. Alternatively, you can print it flat on the print bed. This still needs support, but it doesn’t demand a raft; however, in that case, the print layers’ orientation does not match the box.

Which plate could you use for your projects? Let me know your choice and ideas by contacting me on any of my social media channels. I look forward to your feedback.
